Cold Glass Working EquipmentModel: SAG-1, Single Arbor Grinder
The SAG-1 Single Arbor Grinding Machine is the most versatile machine on the market today. It will accept any grinding or polishing wheel with a 1" arbor hole. You can cut, carve, grind and polish all on one machine. Mounted on a welded tubular steel stand. Features a 115-volt, 1/3 horsepower, constant torque SCR controlled, variable speed motor, which gives the user total control from 100 rpm to 1200 rpm. Precision balanced to run smoothly at high rpm's. The shaft is 15" (38cm) long, which allows for large pieces to be worked without hitting the motor housing. Completely plumbed with standard hose connector, drain hose and adjustable water supply nozzle. Use the 100 mesh wheel to shape your glass pieces, the 220 mesh wheel to smooth them and the 600 mesh wheel to pre-polish your glass pieces before final polishing with the felt wheel and cerium oxide. The 8" wheels are typically used to grind larger pieces, straights and curves, while the 4" wheels are typically used on small pieces and tight inside curves.
Bonded Diamond Wheels These wheels have a full 1/8" of diamond depth bonded to their surface. Constructed of a sintered board bonded with bronze, these wheels far out last the electroplated diamond wheels. An economical choice for the artist that is grinding many pieces per day.
Electroplated Diamond Radius Wheels For the hot glass worker, these wheels are ideal for removing punty marks or creating surface decoration to your finished work.
Stone Wheels These wheels are made of high quality aluminum oxide composite stone, specially manufactured to our specifications. When dressed to shape, they will cut an unlimited number of notching patterns, honey-combing, crosshatching and freehand sculptural design. V-groove the backs of your fused plates and bowls. Add interesting surface decoration. Grind sculptural pieces and add in detail to casted work.
Diamond Engraving Wheels Use these electroplated diamond wheels to V-groove the backs of your fused and casted work. Draw lines, add detail or grind those small imperfections out.
Flexible Diamond Belts A quick way to seam edges of glass pieces or grind the backs of finished pieces. Fit the flexible rubber drum above. Choose from several mesh sizes to get the desired finish. 3" x 25-7/32" (7.6cm x 64cm)
Cork Wheels These wheels are made of high-density cork. Use to pre-polish out the cut work from the diamond wheels or flexible belt applications. Pumice is applied for the pre-polishing step.
Felt Wheels Manufactured from high quality dense felt, these wheels are used in the last step of the polishing process. Charged with cerium oxide, they give a high lustre polish to the glass.
